Sligo looks set to host GAA Scór Sinsír in 2018

Sligo looks set to host the All-Ireland GAA Scór Sinsír competition in 2018.

Sligo GAA Culture and Irish language officer Keith Henry raised the idea at the recent county board convention and with Connaught set to host the competition Sligo has become the frontrunner.

The aim of the Scór committees in Sligo and Connaught is to see the Senior competition held at the Knocknarea arena in IT Sligo with the Scór na nÓg competition being held in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

Sligo is the only Connaught county so far to express an interest in hosting the competition but Keith Henry says they will need the support of the local clubs to ensure they are successful.

He says it would be a huge boost to Sligo.
