The Gardaí are warning people to be aware and increase home security over Christmas if possible.
Donegal Crime Prevention Officer Paul Wallace says this means taking simply steps like not leaving money and keys lying around at home or in the car for potential thieves to see.
He says be mindful when shopping over the Christmas period.
He’s also urging people to call into elderly neighbours over Christmas if possible.
