Childline says more than 1,000 children rang on Christmas Day

The impact of alcohol abuse at Christmas was clear from the calls to Childline yesterday, according to the ISPCC.

More than 1,000 children contacted the service on Christmas Day.

Some reported feeling sad and lonely over the holidays, while others were upset about the loss of a loved one during the year.
