Ballisodare pedestrian crossing ‘an accident waiting to happen’



A Sligo county councillor is claiming there is ‘an accident waiting to happen’ at a pedestrian crossing in the village of Ballisodare.

Sinn Fein Councillor Thomas Healy is calling for the crossing to be moved from its present location on the Ballina Road to the road over the bridge in the village.

Cllr Healy says the crossing is at present too close to a roundabout.

He says motorists coming from Ballina are ‘flying down the hill’ and they do not see the pedestrian crossing.
