Trolley numbers fall dramatically in north west



Trolley waiting numbers in the north west have dropped dramatically today with just 11 people waiting for a bed.

This is down from a high of 35 yesterday.

Letterkenny University Hospital remains the highest in the region with 11 people waiting for hospital admission. Five of those are in the emergency department according to INMO figures.

Sligo University Hospital has just one person waiting on a trolley in the emergency department. This is down from a high of 25 on Monday.

The latest trolley watch report from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows that there are 326 people waiting for a hospital bed across the country.

Cork University hospital is the worst effected with 36 waiting in the emergency department or overflow area of wards.
