Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA Club Notes

Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA notes 11th December 2016

Christmas wishes

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of our members, players and supporters from near and far. Thanks for your support throughout 2016; we look forward to the new year which will be a big one in the lifetime of the club.

Married vs Singles 2016

Our annual Married vs Singles match is back again on December 27th for a seventh year! It is always a great day of entertainment and all proceeds raised this year will go towards Diabetes Ireland. It promises to be another interesting encounter and a great day of festive fun. Jackie Gallagher is set to take charge of the Singles team while Michael Sheridan is the man tasked with keeping the Married team unbeaten! We hope to see you all there on the day to support this great cause. Throw in is at 2pm.

Astro Turf development

The indoor astro-turf complex at Quigabar has seen huge progress in recent weeks and it is hoped that the roof will be in place shortly. It is envisaged that the astro-turf area itself will be ready for use towards the end of January.

We will be launching our fundraising ventures in regard to the complex shortly and a brochure detailing the project is currently in circulation locally. The support of club players past and present, members, supporters, sponsors and the wider community will be required to bring the facility to completion, and your support will be very much appreciated at this time of great progress for the club.

AGM and Dinner Dance

Our Annual General Meeting will take place on January 20th, while our Dinner Dance is scheduled for February 10th. Both events will take place in the Diamond Coast Hotel.

FBD League

Quigabar will host Sligo’s opening game of 2017 when they take on Galway in the first round of the FBD League on January 8th at 2pm.

Sympathy

The club extends its sympathy to the Tuffy family, Frankford, following the recent passing of Michael Tuffy. The club provided a well-attended guard of honour on the morning of the funeral. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Blotto

There was no winner of last weekend’s blotto draw. The draw continues every Saturday night; your continued support is greatly appreciated.
