The important relationship with the US will be another key challenge in the coming year that the EU has to face up to.
That’s according to North West MEP Mairead McGuiness who says that there are significant challenges in the year ahead and Brexit is only one of them.
The Fine Gael MEP says the EU has to inject a ‘sense of hope’ in people and that the world faces many major issues that need to be resolved.
She says there are a number of huge global challenges that we and the rest of Europe have to face up to next year:
