The body of a 56 year old man was recovered from the Boyle River in Boyle yesterday morning.
Local gardai confirmed the news to Ocean FM this morning.
A search operation was undertaken after the man who is not thought to be originally from the town, was spotted in the water near Bridge street.
Boyle fire & rescue service recovered the man near the GAA training grounds on the Sligo road shortly after 9.30am.
A post mortem examination is due to take place and gardai are appealing for anybody who may have seen the man around the bridge street area on Monday morning to get in touch with Boyle Gardai on 071 966 4620
