Concerns raised over danger of N16 junction



A junction on the N16 Sligo to Manorhamilton road is so dangerous that a local councillor fears it will be the scene of a fatal accident.

Fianna Fail Councillor Tom MacSharry has raised concerns about Dunally’s junction which is about two miles outside Sligo on the N16.

He raised the issue at the December meeting of Sligo County Council.

Director of Services Tom Kilfeather told him the council’s road design team will assess the junction early in 2017.

Fianna Fail Councillor Seamus Kilgannon asked if something could be done in the meantime, such as erecting signage on the N16 highlightling it as a dangerous location.
