The Minister for Housing and Local Government says he has no intention of ‘making a fool of people who have paid their water charges’.
However, speaking to Ocean FM News in Sligo last night the Minister failed to reassure people who have paid their water charges that they would be refunded until the whole debacle is sorted out.
He told us exclusively that the money the 61% of people who have paid has already been invested back into water and its infrastructure.
He says its now up to an Oireachtas Committee to resolve the payment issues by March.
