There are 37 people waiting for hospital beds in the north west today according to the latest trolley watch report.
University Hospital Letterkenny has 28 waiting for a bed with 16 on trolleys and a further 12 waiting in the overflow area of wards.
University Hospital Sligo has nine people waiting on trolleys.
According to INMO figures there are 440 people waiting for a bed across the country this afternoon.
University Hospital Galway is the most overcrowded with 34 people in need of a bed.
In early September, Minister for Health Simon Harris and the Heath Service Executive announced a new winter initiative.
Under the plan, from today – the 1st of December overcrowding cannot exceed 236 patients on any single day.
