The Minister for Rural Affairs will join dignitaries at a commemorative event in Sligo this morning.
Minister Heather Humphreys will join a representative of the Pope and the Queen at as guests at a remembrance event in Sligo later today.
Poppy and laurel wreaths will be laid by the Papal Nuncio Archbishop Charles Brown and Gail Boyd representing the Queen.
Secondary schools across Sligo will also be involved in the event which takes place at 11 o’clock this morning in Calry church.
