Fowley to start for Irish women for third successive game

Sligo’s Nicole Fowley (above centre after earning her first cap three weeks ago) will start for the the Irish senior women’s team for a third week in a row this weekend.

She has retained her place at outside centre as head coach Tom Tierney today named the team to play New Zealand in their final game of the November Series on Sunday at the UCD Bowl (kick-off 2pm).

There are ten personnel changes and one positional switch to the Ireland side that lost to Canada at the same venue last Saturday.

Niamh Briggs has recovered from the hamstring injury that has seen her sidelined for the past two weeks. She will captain the girls in green from full-back.

Fowley will be partnered by Sene Naoupu for the third week in a row, while the Donegal duo of Nora Stapleton and Larissa Muldoon form the half-back partnership.

Up front, the same eight that started against England two weeks ago all return.
