IT Sligo are hosting a ‘Don’t Bin It, Bring It’ recycling event on their campus on the 14th of November.
The event, organised by Marketing students in IT Sligo, aims to recycle people’s unwanted clothes, books and toys and is a fundraiser for Clean Coasts, an Irish organisation working towards cleaning Ireland’s beaches.
The aim of the event is to highlight and create awareness for environmental degredation.
The day will include a car boot sale, flea market and a number of recycling workshops.
It also promises to be a fun social day with a DJ, food and prizes.
There are two upcoming collection days where old items can be dropped off for inclusion on the day.
These take place on the main concourse of IT Sligo on Monday November 7th and Wednesday November 9th.
Joanna Sweeney is a lecturer in tourism & marketing at the college and one of the event organisers.
