
Wednesday night will be a make-or-break night for both ATU Sligo and ATU Donegal senior gaelic footballers as they face knockout matches in round two of the Sigerson Cup.
The Sigerson is the All-Ireland champoinship for the country’s universities.
After losing their round 1 match to holders Ulster University last week, ATU Sligo – managed by Paul Higgins – host ATU Galway in a must-win round 2 fixture in Ballinode at 7pm.
Maxi Curran’s ATU Donegal meanwhile, who lost to MTU Cork in Round 1, travel to Kildare to play Maynooth University at 7:15pm.
Defeat for either side would see them exit this year’s competition.
There are several Sligo and Donegal players involved in the UCD v DCU round two clash, which is begin livestreamed by the GAA’s Higher Education unit on Wednesday night at 7:45pm.
