Johnny Kenny is now the joint leading scorer in the Europa Conference League alongside Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku.
He scored twice for Shamrock Rovers on Thursday night and set up the third in the Dublin club’s 3-0 win against Bosnian side Borac at Tallaght Stadium.
Kenny has now scored five goals in Europe this season, which sees him top the scoring charts for the competition alongside Nkunku and Afimico Pululu from Polish side Jagiellonia.
Thursday’s win assures Shamrock Rovers of a place in the knockout stages of the competition.
They remain unbeaten in their Europa Conference League group phase with 11 points from 15 available.
The Dublin Rovers next European game takes them to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea next Thursday.
Kenny and team-mate Neil Farugia spoke to Premier Sports after Thursday night’s victory.

Kenny has scored 20 goals in all competitions this year for Shamrock Rovers – but the indications are that he is going to return to his parent club, Celtic, in January, as his rich vein of form has reportedly caught the attention of Celtic’s first team manager Brendan Rodgers.
