Warning issued on how Increasing the minimum wage could destroy the Hospitality Sector

The Excel Recruitment agency have issued a warning that many small businesses may not be able to deal with the increase in the minimum wage next year.

From January 1st, the minimum wage will increase to 13 euro 50 cent an hour.  Employers will also be dealing with increases in sick pay, PRSI contributions and pension requirements.

The changes are expected to pile on the pressure on the Hospitality sector where business closures could reach 700 by the end of the year.
