Three males have been arrested in relation to a spate burglaries in the North West, West and Midlands of the country.
The men were arrested in Dublin today.
Gardaí searched four properties in the Dublin Metropolitan Region today, with the searches carried out by North Western personnel, aided by members from the Armed Support Unit, DMR West and DMR South along with DMR Regional support and members from Athlone.
The arrests were made following 29 different burglaries in Sligo, Mayo, Roscommon, Longford and Westmeath.
Among the items recovered during the searches were a Rolex watch, designer handbags and shoes and substantial sums of cash, as well as mobile phones, multiple sets of car keys and log books of vehicles.
It’s understood that the items are the proceeds of organised criminal activity.
The three males arrested, a 26-year-old, a 21-year-old and a juvenile, are currently being detained in Garda stations across the Mayo/Roscommon/Longford division.
