Gardai in Donegal have issued an alert to the public over the sale and use of fireworks this Halloween.
Fireworks are illegal in the Republic of Ireland without a licence with people being reminded that those who sell or use them could face fines of up to €10,000 and/or 5 years in prison.
Gardai also say that fireworks are the cause of many injuries every year and are asking the public to act responsibly.
They are asking any information in relation to people who are engaging in antisocial behaviour, selling fireworks or stockpiling materials for bonfires to be shared with Gardai in Ballyshannon or any Garda station.
