Fears have been expressed in north Leitrim over the risk of severe damage to roads and homes as a result of ash dieback.
Ash dieback is a fungal disease which was first recorded in trees here in 2012.
Earlier this year a 79-and-a-half million euro package was announced by cabinet with farmers receiving 5 thousand euro per hectare.
Manorhamilton Independent Councillor James Gilmartin says supports such as that should be put in place for the landowners and farmers affected.
