10-man Sligo Rovers suffered a 4-0 defeat to Shamrock Rovers in Friday night’s televised SSE Airtricity League Premier Division game at Tallaght Stadium.
Two goals from ex-Sligo Rovers player Johnny Kenny in the first half, and a double from defender Sean Hoare in the second, consigned the visitors – who had Jack Henry-Francis sent off for two yellow cards, to a heavy away defeat.
Rovers drop to fourth in the league table – with Waterford moving above them following their win against Dundalk.
In the First Division, Finn Harps are now just one point off the play-off positions following Friday night’s 1-0 home win against Longford Town.
