Sligo winner Mona McSharry finished third in the heats of the women’s 200 metres breaststroke on Wednesday morning.
The Olympic 100m bronze medallist swam 2:23.98 and looked comfortable in finishing third behind the Olympic 100m gold medallist Tatjana Smith, who won the heat.
McSharry’s time saw her qualify seventh fastest overall for Wednesday night’s semi-finals, out of the 16 qualifiers for the semis.
The semi-finals are scheduled for 9:03pm Irish time.
