While in Donegal, Taoiseach Simon Harris discussed the idea of a new department to tackle nationwide issues, such as housing.
The Taoiseach was attending the MacGill Summer School in Glenties, and also spoke about the importance of the event.
In his speech, the Taoiseach highlighted the event as a rite of passage for any Irish politician.
He then went on to reveal the idea of a new Department of Infrastructure, to aid the delivery on small, medium and large scale projects, in relation to climate change, energy, water, housing, healthcare, education, transport.
The Taoiseach said there is a need to unify the provision of infrastructure in the country, and that he believed it must be a priority for the next Government, and that it could be a pragmatic step towards a new Ireland.
