A man in his 40s drowned following a tragic diving incident at Teelin Bay in Donegal on Saturday afternoon.
Another man, in his 60s, was rescued from the water and is receiving treatment at University Hospital Galway.
Shortly after 12.30pm, the alarm was raised as two men got into difficulty at a local diving event which was taking place in the area.
A multi-agency operation was subsequently launched including the Gardaí, ambulance and Resuce 118.
The local corner has been notified and a post-mortem is due to take place in the coming days.
