A North West school secretary and Forsa member says changes to their pay and conditions is a welcome development and a starting point in helping create a workplace environment whey they feel valued for their contribution to school life.
The Department of Education is to back pay some 3 thousand school secretaries under a deal with the Trade union FORSA.
Some school secretaries will see their pay increase by a minimum of 17per cent while some, with more than 20 years of service, will benefit pay increases of over 32 per cent.
The secretaries will also receive arrears payments back to September 2021.
Speaking Manorhamilton based secretary Frank Considine says Forsa secretaries at last feel their conditions are finally improving:
