People in North West can no longer be treated as ‘second class citizens’



People in the North West can no longer be treated as second class citizens in terms of healthcare.

 

That’s according to Donegal Sinn Fein TD Padraig MacLochlainn who has been reacting to revelations that hundreds of scans are being reviewed at Letterkenny University Hospital.

 

It’s after an internal check found more than one-third of a locum radiologist’s work contained errors.

 

It’s believed that the locum consultant’s contract was terminated within 10 days as a result of concerns raised.

 

Earlier this month, local GPs and a number of consultants called for an external review of the hospital, highlighting a number of grave concerns.

 

Not surprised by the developments, Deputy Mac Lochlainn says the people of Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal deserve better:
