Speculation building regarding potential political party for rural Ireland

There is growing speculation today that elected representatives from the North West could be headhunted to join a new a new political party to represent rural Ireland.

Roscommon East Galway Deputy Michael Fitzmaurice is believed to be the driving force behind the formation of the proposed party.

Deputy Fitzmaurice claims to be in discussion with up to 25 councillors from across the political spectrum, along with private-sector individuals.

Leader of Ireland’s Future Organisation Gerry Loftus says unfortunately many rural TD’s are talking the talk when it comes to representing rural Ireland, but sadly, many are not walking the walk.
