Glenview Stars promoted to Super League

Glenview Stars secured a place in next season’s Sligo-Leitrim Southern Hotel Super League with a 2-1 win over Coolaney United in Friday night’s promotion/relegation play-off at Ray MacSharry Park.

The Forthill club had to come from behind after Cathal Davey gave Coolaney a first-half lead.

However second-half goals from Cormac Coyne and Jake Drew turned the contest Glenview’s way and they are now guaranteed Super League football next season.

For Coolaney United, after winning promotion last season, they now make the drop to the Sligo Pallets Premier League next season along with Ballisodare United and Aughanagh Celtic.
