North West projects granted funding under Community Recognition Fund



A number of projects in the North West have been granted funding under the Community Recognition Fund.

 

€2.1m has been allocated for County Leitrim while projects in County Sligo are to share €1.6m.

 

Among the highlights in Leitrim include €120,000 to the Dromahair Arts and Recreation Centre for a Multi Use Games Area.

 

The Leitrim Development Association is to receive €250,000 to improve a range of local facilities.

 

€38,500 is going to Manorhamilton Bee Park Sports Hub for the purchasing of gym equipment. €38,500

 

In Sligo, €125,000 has been awarded to the village projects in Rosses Point for a community playground while €70,000 is going to the Den Community Building.

 

The Sligo Regional Sports Complex at Cleveragh is to receive €145,000 for refurbishment works

 

While in Strandhill, the Sligo Surf Centre is set to get €75,000 for equipment and storage area.

 

The €50 million Community Recognition Fund has been allocated across all local authorities based on the number of new arrivals located there.

 

The Fund aims to support the development of facilities that will be used by all members of the community.
