Leitrim footballers made a losing start to their Tailteann Cup Group 4 campaign on Sunday as opponents Antrim ran out convincing 3-18 to 2-12 winners at Corrigan Park in Belfast.
The Saffron County were deserving winners scoring three second-half goals in a dominant display, which Leitrim – on the day – had no answer to.
The was little enough between the teams in the opening half – but Antrim took their key chances and a knee injury to chief marksman Keith Beirne early in the second-half did little to help Leitrim’s cause.
Team manager Andy Moran spoke to Ocean FM Sport after the game.
Leitrim now prepare to host Fermanagh next Saturday evening (May 20th) in Carrick-on-Shannon at 6pm, a game which will be broadcast live on Ocean FM.
