Gardaí appeal for witnesses to fatal Leitrim crash

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision in Leitrim on Friday morning.

Shortly after 8:40am, Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a single vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on the R208 Drumcong to Ballinamore Road at Aghacashlaun.

The motorcyclist, a man in his late 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

A technical examination of the scene was carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road was closed for a time but has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to any road users with camera footage (including dashcam) who travelled on the R208 in the Drumcong area between 8pm on Thursday and 8:40am on Friday to contact them.
