Cuban Doctors could be drafted into local hospitals to address staff shortages

Talks are to get underway between relevant stakeholders with a view towards employing Cuban doctors in the South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen.

The facility, like so many others on both sides of the border is experiencing major difficulties in recruiting and retaining healthcare staff.

It follows a meeting between Fermanagh District Council and the Western Health Trust with an agreement now reached to contact the Cuban Authorities in a bid to bridge the gap in staffing in the North.
