It’s hoped that the appointment of the biodiversity officer in Sligo will pave the way for the progression of a number of projects in the county.
In particular, dune erosion in a number of key locations in Sligo is expected to be tackled going forward.
Councillor Sinéad Maguire says it important for one person to take the lead in this regard and she’s hopeful that various funding applications will be pushed forward as a result:
