Donegal TD slams presence of super trawlers in Irish waters



The presence of ‘monster vessels’ in Irish waters has been described as a kick in the teeth to the many fishermen in the North West who are struggling with further quotas.

It comes as the two largest super trawlers in the world, the 475 foot Annelies Ilena and the 470 foot Margiris, were fishing in Irish waters over the last week.

They were joined by another super trawler, the 383 foot Helen Mary.
