Taoiseach accused of ‘talking through his hat’ over stalled school building projects



A Donegal TD has questioned whether or not the Taoiseach has been ‘talking through his hat’ over a timeline for when stalled school building projects will proceed.

 

It’s after the Education Minister failed to give a commitment today on whether a new school project for Gaelscoil na gCeithre Máistríin in Donegal Town will go ahead this year.

 

58 planned school building projects right across the country have been effectively paused for the time being and while the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar previously stated that they would proceed before years end, concern remains that they may not.

 

Minister Norma Foley has been quizzed about the debacle in the Dail this afternoon by Sinn Fein TD Pearse Doherty.

 

Deputy Doherty asked Minister Foley to echo the words of the Taoiseach and provide reassurances that construction will happen this year:
