Man charged after Garda car rammed in Laghey

An investigation is continuing into a Garda car ramming incident in south Donegal.

It happened at Laghey yesterday morning.

At around 9:00am yesterday morning, Gardaí observed a vehicle engaged in dangerous driving at a filling station.

The vehicle failed to stop when signalled to by Gardaí and drove away from the scene.

During the course of this interaction the vehicle collided with a Garda Patrol Car.

No Injuries were reported.

The driver of the vehicle, a man aged in his 20s, was arrested and taken to Ballyshannon Garda Station.

He has since been charged and appeared before a special sitting of Letterkenny District Court on the same date.

Investigations are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was travelling in the Laghey area at this time, who may have dash cam footage to make this available to them.
