Sligo Grammar retain Schools Cup title



It was a history-making Wednesday for Sligo Grammar School at the Sportsground in Galway as retained their Connacht Senior ‘A’ cup title with a 28-7 win over Marist College, Athlone.

In doing so, the Grammar become the first school to secure a Connacht league and cup double in successive seasons.

Tries from George Barlow, Jacob Kilcoyne and Arann Platt combined with an excellent kicking display from outhalf Earl Norris (13 points) gave Sligo Grammar a comprehensive victory in the end over a Marist side who impressed for much of the 70 minutes.
