Local TD calls for compensation to be provided to tourism dependent businesses

It’s feared that Rosses Point and Bundoran will be two of the hardest hit areas in the country this tourism season with it expected that there will be little to no accommodation available.


There’s major ongoing concern locally over how smaller cafes and restaurants will fare this year owing to a large proportion of hotels currently housing Ukrainian refugees.


Pressure is mounting on the Government to come up with an aid package for businesses who may suffer a financial loss to the expected knock on effect.


Speaking to OceanFM news, Independent Sligo Leitrim TD Marian Harkin says those affected must be compensated now as many people are weighing up whether to open or not over the summer:
