Just under 2,000 Ukrainian pupils in North West schools



There are just under 2,000 Ukrainian pupils enrolled in schools across the North West in figures published by the Department of Education.

As of March 1st, 359 were enrolled in Sligo, 211 of whom who were enrolled in Primary education while 148 are attending post-Primary schools.

The figure is slightly lower in Leitrim with 342 pupils there. 216 are in Primary school with 126 have been accommodated at post-Primary schools.

Donegal, meanwhile, sees a surge of figures with the figure standing at 1250, 818 in Primary and 440 in post-Primary.

Nationally, 14,931 Ukrainian pupils have been enrolled in schools across Ireland.
