The housing crisis has very much dominated the news agenda in recent times.
One contributing factor is the difficulty many people have in securing planning permission on their own land.
A north Sligo listener yesterday contacted North West Today show where she explained that her son did manage to secure planning permission locally her daughters were not so fortunate.
As a result one has moved to a neighbouring county a two are renting property.
Indeed one of her daughters will have to move out of her property in July and now faces the challenge of securing a new property.
The challenges with securing permission in this part of Sligo is that it is part of the ‘green belt areas’.
