Sligo Councillor says significant progress is being made on S3 Bus Route in Sligo

A Sligo councillor has expressed his optimism that an adequate bus service for the S3 route in Sligo will be in operation this year.

Long running concerns have been expressed for some time over the service that covers areas such as Magheraboy, Finisklin estate, and the First Sea Road.

Sligo Strandhill Councillor Tom MacSharry has raised the matter in the past.

He says negotiations have taken place with local link providers to see if an interim service could be implemented on the route.

Speaking to Ocean FM news The Fianna Fail councillor says these talks have now led to the National Transport Authority deciding to take immediate action by speeding up when an adequate service will be provided on the route.

In light of these developments Cllr MacSharry has called on the four sitting TD’s in the Sligo Leitrim Constituency to apply pressure on the Minister with responsibility Transport, Eamon Ryan to make sure the service is in place as soon as possible:
