Leitrim made an impressive start to their Allianz Football League Division 4 campaign on Sunday with a 3-18 to 0-11 victory over Waterford in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Andy Moran’s established a 0-5 to 0-2 lead after the opening quarter of the game but, playing into a tricky breeze, found themselves behind at half-time 0-8 to 0-7.
The second-half was different affair as Leitrim’s attack caught fire with Jack Heslin and Keith Beirne both finding the Waterford net.
The only blemish on the day was a serious-looking injury to Aidan Flynn, who was stretchered from the field after a lengthy delay.
