A Sligo Leitrim TD has expressed serious concern over the new €2.5 billion to address defects in up to 100,000 apartments.
Minister for Housing Darragh O Brien is in the process of drafting laws to repair fire safety and other issues in many apartments build during the Celtic Tiger era.
Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny is warning that the process is doomed to fail with the funds being provided to management companies, instead of those living directly in the buildings where there are concerns over.
