St Attracta’s reach another schools soccer final

St Attracta’s talented crop of soccer players have reached another Connacht after a 4-1 win over Galway’s Coláiste na Coiribe in Monday’s Schoolgirls FAI Senior ‘A’ semi-final in Ballisodare.

Republic of Ireland under-19 international Pixie O’Hara scored twice for the South Sligo school as did fellow Sligo Rovers Academy player Rebecca Doddy.

Attracta’s won the Connacht junior ‘A’ title last season – and now prepare to face Claregalway in Thursday’s senior ‘A’ final in Lecarrow.

Kick-off will be at 12 noon.

The team is coached by Hughie Harvey and Andrew Flynn.

Andrew spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s Austin O’Callaghan following Monday’s win.

Elsewhere, there was disappointment for Summerhill College’s senior boys soccer team as they lost Monday’s quarter-final against St Gerald’s of Castlebar 2-1.

Schoolboys international Eli Rooney scored the College goal.
