Magic Monday of sport for St Attracta’s



St Attracta’s Community School in Tubbercurry celebrated a memorable Monday of sporting achievement with the the schools junior girls gaelic footballers lifting a Connacht ‘A’ title – and the senior girls soccer team reaching a schoolgirls FAI ‘A’ decider on the same day.

First came the soccer success as Attracta’s beat Coláiste na Coiribe (Galway) 4-1 in their senior semi-final in Ballisodare.

That win sets up a Connacht cup final against Claregalay in Lecarrow this Thursday at 12 noon.

Later in the day, Attracta’s junior gaelic footballers won a nailbiting Connacht final in Swinford, with a 4-11 to 4-8 victory over Sacret Heart Westport.
