Sligo-Leitrim TD raises concerns over accommodation for Ukrainian refugees



A Sligo-Leitrim TD is calling on the government to consider other options despite 200 modular homes being built by April to accommodate Ukrainian refugees.

24 modular homes to accommodate Ukrainian refugees are to be provided at Doorly Park in Sligo.

Units are also to be set up in Cavan, Thurles, Claremorris and Mahon (Cork).

Over 65,000 Ukrainian people have arrived in Ireland so far with over 54,000 seeking accommodation from the State.

Deputy Marian Harkin says the new homes are a welcome development but the Government must not limit itself to modular homes:
