Wintry weather continues to impact the north west region

Parts of the north west region are waking up to snow this morning.

Recent falls of snow along with Icy stretches and patches of freezing fog are making driving conditions difficult for motorists.

Temperatures plunged to as low as minus 2 degrees Celsius overnight.

A Met Eireann cold weather alert is in effect until midday.

It’s a yellow low temperature and ice warning.

Locally Gardaí say that recent snow showers have been reported throughout the region and they are advising care on all secondary and untreated roads.
