The Irish Coast Guard responded to 2699 incidents in 2022, the second highest number in 5 years
Critical assistance was provided to 559 people, while Coast Guard helicopters, including Rescue 118 based in Sligo, conducted 829 missions this year.
The group’s role is to provide maritime search and rescue, maritime casualty, and pollution response service.
