Two Sligo schools set to benefit from safe routes to school programme



Two schools in Sligo are set to benefit from the latest round of the safe routes to school programme.

 

Réalt na Mara in Rosses Point and Mercy Primary School are a step closer in getting some infrastructure in place to make it safer for children going to and from school.

 

The funding allows both schemes progress to the next stage and is part of a nationwide allocation including 108 schools.

 

Local Cllr Thomas Walsh says that there are safety concerns in Rosses Point in particular and is hopeful that this scheme will finally improve pedestrian access there:
