Leitrim TD claims reducing car parking spaces at Leinster House won’t necessarily save the planet



A Sligo Leitrim TD says if the Taoiseach is serious about reducing car spaces at Leinster House he should be prepared to run the Dáil’s business over zoom.

 

The Taoiseach says he has no objection to getting rid of the Dáil car park if there’s a proper alternative.

 

Leo Varadkar made the comments following the publication of the updated Climate Action Bill, which suggests cutting free public sector parking spaces.

 

Sinn Féin TD Martin Kenny says the Taoiseach’s remarks were designed to draw attention away from an inadequate public transport service that currently exists.

 

 

On Agricultural reductions the Leitrim based TD says that alternative profit making farming models need to be presented to farmers which may help reduce the number of cattle on Irish farms:
